How I made mixed media art in one evening

Plan for it, learn new things, keep growing, thats all youve ever needed to do, that will take you to your goals - Leonie Dawson.

With that in mind, I was watching some Youtube videos and mixed media and altered art and was so inspire to make my own piece. So I did! then I made this video all about it, I kinda go off topic about moving house and internalising guilt that makes you ill but its all good ;)

Check me out ;)

Always learning something new and playing around with new techniques, I tried making some mixed media artwork, this was my first attempt. I am in total love and really enjoyed feeling free, the creative process just flowed from me.

I was so in love, I stayed up and made another one!

Ohh I can see me becoming addicted to these! someone on my facebook page has asked me to do a workshop on them, so when I have moved and got the studio set up, thats what I shall do - awesome!

dear universe......

Dear universe if you are reading this, thank you, we have a dream, a dream which we really want to happen, were not quite sure how or when it will happen but have every faith that it will.
We live in a seaside town called Blackpool in Lancashire, UK. We have lived here all our lives, we don't fit in. We need to live somewhere that's warm, beautiful, rich in love and life. We live a different life to most in our area. We already have chickens. We have converted our back garden to be full of raised beds so we can grow our own veg and fruit.

We want to live in Portugal or France, Portugal first choice France second, we are going to have a house that's detached on its own land, the house needs to have at least 4 bedrooms, an open plan lounge/kitchen/dining room, another room that can be my craft room, a bedroom with a balcony that overlooks the mountains, big windows, wooden floors, a natural pool outside would be lovely as would a river/stream running through the land. An area for chickens, an allotment, an orchard and a large area for the dog to run around and for us to play games/sunbathe.

We are going to have an organic retreat, grow all our own fruit and veg, meditate, practise yoga and have affordable holidays for people who want to come over and switch off from modern life. Were going to have a couple of cottages at the bottom of our land that I will make all the soft furnishings for and decorate plainly to give a fresh airy feel for holiday accommodation.

I am going to run courses on pure living, these will be part of the holiday if required, I want to share my wealth of knowledge about living pure with anyone who is interested. I feel its my duty to share what I have discovered and feel many children and adults would be so much better off and healthier with the knowledge.

We are both self employed, have two teen boys living at home who are home schooled, we rent our house ( have lived here for 12 yrs this September) so are free to move as soon as the opportunity arises.
We need to fund this dream and I am writing an ebook all about living without chemicals, I want it to have so many sales we can live out our dream. I am working on finishing it very soon

Thank you universe for already making my true love dreams come true, I have every faith in this one coming true too.

Happy valentines day......Not

I love this image, it makes me smile, I wish it was me, Ive always wanted to convert a bus and live in it, it would be a dream come true, I would like another baby too, it hasn't happened over the past 6 years so I don't think its meant to be, maybe its for the best my boys are now 18,15 and 14 so almost all grown up. I could look to the future, just me and the Mr hopefully travelling or living in Portugal, not sure if the Mr would live on a bus, I don't think its his thing.

                                                                   this picture

I think valentines day is a horrid day, I feel sorry for the ones alone, I feel sorry for the partners who feel they 'should' do something because big corporations tell us too,  I feel sad too, that on the flip side I wish I got flowers. Not necessarily on this day but on other days although I say it doesn't matter. I feel low that the Mr and I don't get to go away for the night somewhere, we are always surrounded by children (that's what you get when you homeschool) and the dog. We don't get to do the couples thing, although we watch films together etc. I think valentines day makes you think of all these things that would normally pass you by.

So I'm sticking my fingers up at valentines day because its crapola. When its a day meant to be filled with love how come it makes so many feel inadequate?

angels calling?

                                       *
Lately I have been thinking alot about angels, I have been painting and drawing them, I was brought up a christian and have always known angels exist, as I got older I moved away from religion and still dont follow one "god". I believe in angels, in mother nature, in being kind to others, trying to be a good person. I do think angels protect you and watch over you, I'm not sure if we are allocated an angel each or if its some relative that has died and now is your guardian, I do know they are bless and make me feel safe. I have been engrossed in all things to do with the goddess circle, have you heard of it?, if not pop over and have a look round, were all very friendly and there are some awesomely positive affermations, videos, courses, meditations and so much more. Since joining the circle a few weeks ago I feel so much calmer and in tune with my body, I know this may sound like fairy talk (as my boys often tell me I'm saying ) but its true, I feel like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, I have written an e-book, this is the first one I have done and it excited me so much, I just need to find out how to put it on my website which is currently having a makeover to go along with my transformation. It's called " A beautiful you, from inside out"I can't wait to share it with you gorgeous ladies
For now I will leave you with the amazing Leonie

* Thats my little boy in the top picture, if you would like me to transform your child into a little angel, email me at ruby_coupe@hotmail.com all I need is for you to email me a favourite photo of your child, I will email you back with payment details, its £9.99 per photo for the first 2 photos, anymore after that and its only £5.99 per photo. I will then do my magic and email you your own little angel photograph back within 3 days (5 if I'm super busy - but I would let you know in advance). You get to keep all rights to the finished product, I will not use your photo for any promotion etc. Plus the best thing is you can re-use your photo as many times as you like, you can print it, coo over it, share it with family and friends!

Lots of love and sunshine x

my dreams and yours for 2012

It's already near the end of January and I really don't know where the time has gone too,it has flown by since Christmas and I'm sure the new years resolutions are becoming a distant memory and you have gone back to the normal routine of life, but wait remember that buzz, that promise of a new year filled with so many dreams and ideas, get that back right now, close your eyes and think of what YOU would like to achieve this year, what are YOUR dreams for the future, harness that amazing buzzy feeling and then get a pen and a piece of paper and write them down, go on I give you permission for 10 Min's of YOU time, put them all out there for the universe to answer them, they can be great and things you may not think you could do in a million years, they could be small, so tiny in fact you may think its silly to write them down, its not, these are YOUR dreams, and YOUR thoughts, so go for it, put whatever comes to mind, be free with your ideas, the more you write the easier it becomes to write more until suddenly you have filled a whole page with your dreams.

I did this last year after I printed off Goddess Leonie's workbook, it was such an inspiration to me, simply by filling it in made me open my eyes and see my true beauty and potential, this year it’s filled with over 100 pages of worksheets & a printable calendar to help you dream, manifest, set your intentions, plan & cultivate your amazing new year. It has help over 3000 ladies worldwide and it helped me too, I am sure it will help YOU along your journey, it will show you your full potential, how all your dreams can manifest by just asking the universe for them to come true.I love the way it has been lovingly handwritten and when you read it, it seems as tough it has been written personally for you.I also love Leonie's rainbow illustrations they make me smile and will make you feel happy. The workbook is perfect for you to print out, soak up the colours of the rainbow and get thoroughly inspired by.

I have lots of dreams for the year ahead, some are already coming true, some I'm sure will come to fruition soon and others may make me wait but I know in my heart that the journey I take getting to each one of them will be an amazing one:
1.I want to learn to swim

14.I want to learn to take better photos

29. I will blog more (yes I know I say it all the time but I mean it :)
30.I want a dog

I could sit here typing for ages but these are just a few of the things I want to achieve, what are yours? I would love it if you could write your own lists and send me the link to them in the comment box below, have a wonderful time writing them and do visit Leonie's page for some amazing free things and for inspiration she truly is a remarkable woman x

sneak peeks

I love looking a photos of other peoples homes and know there is a flicker group called corners of my home which I have spent many an hour looking at when I probably should of been doing something else! I thought my post today would be what I would like to see on a blog, so here goes.....
My bedroom, I made the patchwork bedspread, the cushions, the bunting, headboard, crochet blanket (just seen on bed)
youngest sons bedroom, we just decorated it recently, it did have a full jungle mural that I painted for him but now he is a bit older and for ease I just painted everything antique cream, this is a tree he brought home from the park 3 years ago, he's got birds, dreamcatchers he's made, beaded strings and his last two cuddly toys in it.
another bit of youngest son's room, he loves collecting things, especially warhammer
middle sons bedroom, he loves bionicles and xbox games!
our tiny kitchen, I'm guessing in the past it was actually a pantry as it's so small, I'm actually stood at the door taking this photo!
welcome to out hallway, note the cath kidston bags...all freebies with magazines, I would just love a real one ;) .The indian bridal hanging came of ebay, it's so lovely, full of embroidery...
Up our stairs, all paintings done by me at various times, our walls have been painted all sorts of colours over the years but now I'm doing something I thought I would never do and that's paint everywhere antique cream, it looks so much calmer and tidy, but I do love colour so much. I love all sorts of styles too, shabby chic, retro glam, art deco, all eras, in fact I have always thought how cool it would be to own a street of houses and decorate each one, filling it with furniture of each time period and then when the feeling takes you could stay in the 40s house, or live it up in the 70's house etc. Which interiors period do you love?
This site is so worth checking out for this unusual and very awesome house

share the love

Sometimes I spend hours dreaming on the net at a life rather different to mine, not that I don't love what I have and that I'm blessed with 3 funny children but you know those times when you seek solace in shopping even if its virtual, or you imagine to be someone else who is wealthy enough to purchase whatever she desires without thinking of cost or consequence, well these are a small few of the sites that I go off into dreamland. I wanted to share them with you :
Serene and beautiful all in a luxurious website Gypsy Moon is well worth a visit, imagine gypsies and pirates in a romantic faraway embrace whilst dancing seductively to a jig.....
Check out these cakes, fabulous and amazing Let them eat cake is truly a cake lovers fantasy website

The magic cabin, totally lovely stuff for children, saved for the day I am blessed with a little girl called Lavender Isabella..........

Awesome home wares and clothes, for moments of dreaming about a penthouse studio apartment on the upper east side in another life as a single fashion designer living a life I could get accustomed to.........

Dreaming of being a great singer in a dimly lit bar, singing Downtown full belt and shimming my hips in this gorgeous little green number, the man on the front row gazing at me like I am the most exquisite thing he has ever seen.....
