crafty old me...

I did another craft fair last weekend in aid of this charity

it was a lovely early morning start and I had my flask and made cakes to share, so was all prepared for the day, we set up and had a noisy round the other stalls before the doors opened, unfortunately it started to pour down and didn't stop for the rest of the day so it was a bit of a let down. Anyway I got to meet some nice people and enjoyed the Morris dancers, the charity made over £600 so that was really good, anyway I took some photo's of some stalls I liked!

 A cake stall by Angela, the cakes looked great and I heard they tasted great too, being dairy free meant I couldn't sample any which is probably just as well seen as though my backside is growing from my own baking...

The singleton Morris dancers, the lady in this pic did an amazing clog dance at the end too, I loved the bells on their shoes and may have to sew some on my shoes so I jingle when I walk, much to the disgust of my children no doubt.

We never go to KFC or Mcdonalds or any of the other dodgy, greedy consumerism filled take aways but I know that others do, maybe sharing this will make you think again before you reach for that "family (sick) bucket"!.

Infinate future chaos...what will our children see?

Infinite future chaos – “whats that?” I here you say,
its the way we shape our future by how we live today,
the way we live our lives has a knock on effect,
we should give this world of ours some love and respect.

Freak weather, wars, global warming, hurricanes and nature dying,
destruction, rainforest's disappearing, children starving, children crying,
riots, warfare, guns, chemical waste, nuclear bombs and anarchy,
extinction of animals, genetics, clones, who is it down to, powers that be?.

Just think of our children, how will they survive, what will they see?,
lets all make changes so they can be happy and free,
who knows what the future holds but its down to me and you,
I'm just thankful I wont be around and bet that you are too.

This is a poem I wrote ages ago and it's message is still very relevant today, you can buy this as a card or print from redbubble, you can also get the above pic as a tshirt too, great quality too.
I wish I could wave a magic wand and sort things out with this world of ours, you may only be one person and sometimes it is easy to think that your little changes don't mean much but together our changes can become huge and have a real impact.

Haiti help from crafters

We have all seen or heard about the terrible earthquake in Haiti and if like me you felt quite helpless to help but really wanted to do something, anything really then you need to go to this wonderful site, http://crafthope.com/ I am donating one of my love kittens and a knitting roll, its only a small gesture but together as a craft community we can make a big impact.

The Craft Hope for Haiti Etsy shop is now open! There are some amazing handmade items in the shop. Please support Doctors Without Borders by either donating a handmade item or shopping in our Etsy store.
Our Etsy shop will benefit Doctors Without Borders, with 100% of the proceeds going to them. The medical need in Haiti right now is acute. The Doctors Without Borders existing facilities are so badly damaged, they are no longer functional. Post-earthquake medical care will be from tents. So far they have treated 1,500 people – 500 of them need immediate major surgery. There are no facilities to do this in Haiti currently. An inflatable hospital should be arriving in Haiti today.
The shop will remain open as long as we have donations to fill it up! Thanks to everyone for spreading a little hope to those in Haiti.
